In brief: Panama obtains loan for new metro line
* Panama’s economy & finance (MEF) minister, Héctor Alexander, has signed an agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a governmental agency, for a second loan for construction of line 3 of the Panama City metro. The US$625.9m loan will go towards the metro’s new line, which the MEF says will benefit 500,000 users in the province of Panamá Oeste, improve urban mobility, and generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
