COLOMBIA: Petro loses another pillar of legislative alliance

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro is in a deep political rut, with his broad legislative coalition unravelling and his flagship ‘total peace’ policy rapidly losing credibility. The centrist Partido de la U (PU) formally withdrew from the ruling coalition on 16 May, in a move likely to have consequences for the Petro administration’s legislative agenda.
