* A Venezuelan think tank, Centro de Documentación y Análisis Social (Cendas), has calculated that the price of the basic basket of food products now costs more than 80 times the monthly minimum wage. The basic basket cost B$10,418.98 (US$486.87) in January, according to Cendas, which said that this represents a rise of 26.7% compared to the price of the basket the previous month. In year-on-year terms, Cendas stated that the cost of the basic basket was up 383.5% on January 2023.
