Going the wrong way again

A new opinion poll showing that the state of the economy has overtaken crime as the biggest concern for voters is not a sign that the government is winning the battle against the gangs. Indeed there is increasing evidence that the key anti-crime agencies, notably the gang-busting Subprocuradurí­a de la Investigación Especializada en Delincuencia Organizada (Siedo) and the army, have been corrupted by gangsters.
