BRAZIL: Amazonas state struggles with drought emergency

On 29 September Wilson Lima, the governor of Brazil’s northern Amazonas state, decreed a 180-day emergency due to the ongoing drought which has threatened access to food and water, among other negative impacts, in at least 55 municipalities.
