BRAZIL: Federal gov't steps up drought emergency response

On 13 October officials from Brazil’s federal government, including the environment minister, Marina Silva, and the regional development minister, Waldez Góes, gave a press conference about the latest actions to address the severe drought afflicting the northern Amazonian region, announcing more funding and the deployment of more personnel.
