Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has denied that moves to significantly reduce the funds available to the federal judicial power (PJF) will affect workers. Speaking at a press conference on 17 October, López Obrador stated that cuts, which were approved in the lower chamber of congress that day, would only affect the “privileges” of those at the top of the judiciary rather than the salaries of ordinary workers.
