BRAZIL: Indigenous leader criticises lack of gov’t protection
On 27 October Chief Raoni Metuktire of the Kayapó people, a renowned indigenous rights activist in Brazil, gave an interview to the national daily O Globo, in which he accused President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of “not delivering” on promises to defend indigenous communities from violence.
