MEXICO: Passenger rail services prioritised at expense of freight

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador published a decree in the official gazette (DOF) on 20 November to revive passenger rail services - which were stopped following the privatisation of the sector in 1995. The decree states that passenger services will now take priority over the freight services that currently dominate the country’s rail network.
