*Uruguay’s central bank (BCU) has released new figures which show that Uruguay’s GDP growth in the third quarter of 2023 was -0.2% year-on-year, driven by contractions in construction, and electricity, gas & water which both registered -0.4% growth. This was offset partially by 0.5% year-on-year growth posted by agriculture, fishing & mining, while transport, storage, information & communications also posted growth of 0.3%. In quarterly terms Uruguay’s economy grew 1.0% on the second quarter of 2023 which had posted a contraction of 2.5% year-on-year.
