REGION | Tourism. Cuba received 2.4m tourists in 2023, the national statistics institute (Onei) revealed on 16 January. While this was a 151% increase on 2022, the figure remains 42.8% lower than 2019, the year before the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, and well short of the 3.5m target set by the government.
