DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: US kickstarts trade talks

US Trade Representative Robert Zoellick travelled to the Dominican Republic to formally kickstart free-trade negotiations on 14 January. Zoellick said that the talks should be wrapped up by April or May, when the Dominican Republic will be added to the recently signed US-Central American Free Trade Agreement (Cafta).
