*Chile’s President Gabriel Boric has hailed the launch of the first hydrogen bus made in Chile. Speaking from the city of Rancagua, capital of O’Higgins region, Boric stated that the bus was an example of the “concrete results” that are being produced by his government’s national strategy of sustainable productive development. He said that the energy transition was “an unprecedented window of opportunity that we cannot miss”, highlighting Chile’s vulnerability to the impact of climate change. The bus was made by Chilean electric mobility start-up Reborn Electric Motors together with Chilean utility company Colbún and British mining company Anglo American with support from Chile’s state development agency (Corfo).
