President Gabriel Boric enlarged his cabinet this week as his government seeks to refine and strengthen its response to violent crime and insecurity in Chile. Luis Cordero took over as head of the new public security ministry on 1 April. He will preside over security, public order, and crime prevention, functions that previously fell within the remit of the interior ministry.
