Chile’s right-wing political parties will not compete in primary elections on 29 June, leaving the stage open for left-wing parties to dominate the election campaign. Evelyn Matthei, the presidential candidate of the right-of-centre opposition coalition Chile Vamos, confirmed as much this week.
