ARGENTINA | Strong growth. Argentina’s economy grew by 5.7% year-on-year in February, according to the national statistics institute (Indec) on 22 April. Financial intermediation expanded by 30.2% year-on-year in February and fishing by 28.3%, while mining also grew by 5%. More celebrated by the government led by President Javier Milei, as the 5.7% growth was against a low base of comparison, was the 0.8% month-on-month growth from January.
