Security forces in Mexico are keeping the pressure on Los Chapitos, the faction of the Cártel de Sinaloa that is led by four sons of the imprisoned Mexican kingpin Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán Loera. With two of the four Los Chapitos leaders in prison in the US and various other high-level members arrested or extradited in recent months, on 24 May authorities announced the latest blow to the criminal group: the killing of one of its top security enforcers, Jorge Humberto Figueroa Benítez, alias ‘El Perris’.
