BRAZIL | Rate hike cycle continues. The monetary policy committee (Copom) of Brazil’s central bank (BCB) decided to raise the country’s benchmark interest rate (Selic) from 14.75% to 15.00% after a meeting from 17-18 June. This is the seventh consecutive meeting in which the Copom has decided to increase the Selic, continuing the rate hike cycle that began in September 2024.
