BOLIVIA: MAS electoral hopes fading, poll suggests

The left-wing Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS), which has ruled Bolivia for 18 of the last 19 years, is facing the growing likelihood of losing power in the looming general elections, the first round of which will be held on 17 August. That is according to an Ipsos-Ciesmori poll published on 13 July which put MAS candidate Eduardo del Castillo on just 1.7% of voting intentions, while conservative business magnate Samuel Doria Medina leads the pack with 18.7%.
