COLOMBIA: Cepeda the early frontrunner amid conservative divisions
Senator Iván Cepeda, the candidate for the ruling left-wing Pacto Histórico coalition in the May 2026 presidential election, has taken a commanding early lead according to an Invamer poll published on 1 December. Cepeda’s advantage is likely to wane as the field clears, but for now he is benefitting from a divided right-wing opposition and has managed to avoid being tainted by repeated scandals in the ruling coalition.
