*Paraguay’s state-run oil company, Petróleos Paraguayos (Petropar) has announced another increase in the price of fuel
“in line with the international situation”. The latest increase means that diesel sold by state oil company Petropar will cost between G$7,450 (US$1.15) and G$9,250 per litre, while its 88-octane gasoline will cost G$6,390 per litre, 93-octane gasoline G$6,890 per litre, and 97-octane gasoline G$8,240 per litre. This follows another increase on 23 March, when prices were hiked to G$6,700-G$8,500 per litre for diesel and to G$5,640-G$7,490 for different kinds of gasoline. Petropar stated it remained committed to Paraguayan families and was maintaining
“the lowest prices on the market”. It said it was carrying out price increases in
“a gradual and responsible manner”. The price increases take place amid the disruption to the global fuel market caused by the war in Iran.
