CUBA: Five releases fail to impress dissidents

Over the past week the Cuban authorities have released five jailed dissidents. This has been hailed by the European Union presidency as a `positive' step, but leaders of Cuban dissident groups dismiss it as a smokescreen to hide continuing repression. Only one of those released was among the 75 arrested and convicted in summary trials in April last year.
