DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Thousands deported in xenophobic outburst

A new wave of xenophobia has spread through the Dominican Republic in the past couple of weeks, triggering the indiscriminate 'repatriation' of more than 4,000 alleged illegal Haitian immigrants before the foreign ministers of both countries agreed, on 17 May, to call a halt to the actions. This halt may prove only temporary.
