PERU: On course for fastest growth since 1997

The economy grew 6.74% year-on-year in August according to the government. This puts the economy on course for its fastest growth since 1997: Banco Wiese Sudameris, now owned by an Italian banking group Intesa, reckons that the economy will grow by 5.8% in 2005. In 1997 the economy grew by 6.8%.
