BRAZIL: Black Friday leaves Lula facing possible impeachment

It was Black Friday for President Lula da Silva. New revelations put him far closer to the centre of the corruption scandal enveloping his party and his government; opposition leaders have begun to talk openly about possible impeachment proceedings; an opinion survey shows him, for the first time, likely to lose a reelection bid; and a belated attempt to apologise publicly fell flat.
