HAITI: No new date, puzzling court ruling

While neither Prime Minister Gérard Latortue nor the electoral council appeared able or willing to explain why they could not come up with a new date for the elections they had agreed to postpone, the supreme court has handed down a peculiar ruling ordering the registration of one of the rejected presidential candidates. A question this has prompted is whether other such rulings might follow - perhaps including Gérard Jean-Juste, of Lavalas.
