BOLIVIA: Critical electoral deadline this week
After more than three weeks of failing to reach agreement on the vexing issue of the court-ordered reallocation of seats in the legislature, congress is up against a critical deadline: on 20 October the time runs out for parties to submit amendments to their lists of candidates. President Eduardo Rodríguez, who had promised to unveil a proposal of his own to solve the problem, has decided to hold back to see what transpires in the session of congress arranged for 18 October (coinciding with the distribution of this issue).
