BOLIVIA: Morales starts to sound more conciliatory

President Evo Morales called a "march for democracy", effectively a rally in support of his government, in the Plaza de los Héroes in La Paz on 12 October. The purpose of the rally was to underline the threat of a coup. Morales did not provide details but he stressed that, "this cultural democratic revolution will go forward with or without Evo Morales; nobody is going to stop the change in Bolivia." He then spoke at length on the need for reconciliation in Bolivia.
