President Rafael Correa wasted little time in reacting to the narrow
margin of victory of his referendum on 7 May. The main scapegoat was his

result and proceed with implementing the referendum's proposals as if it were
the resounding victory he had predicted. The government is preparing to carry
out an "information campaign" in the provinces that rejected the referendum
proposals in a bid to dismantle the "rumours and lies" put out by the opposition
and to persuade people that they should have voted "yes".End of preview - This article contains approximately 812 words.
