MEXICO: Successes claimed in drive against Los Zetas
Los Zetas, the most violent of Mexico’s drug trafficking organisations (DTO), appears to have become the chief target of the government’s anti-DTO drive. The army has claimed success for an operation launched in northern states against the Zetas in the wake of the late-August Casino Royale arson attack in Monterrey. In another operation launched later in Veracruz, the navy also announced an important coup against Los Zetas.
