PARAGUAY: EPP resurfaces with a raid as Cubas trial begins

The guerrillas of the Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP) have resurfaced after a three month period of inactivity (other than verbal) with a minor raid on the outpost of a farm owned by a Brazilian, who was ordered to hand out foodstuffs and livestock to poor local communities in Concepción. The attack took place just before the beginning of a trial of seven members of Partido Patria Libre (PPL), the EPP’s precursor, on charges linked to the kidnapping and murder of Cecilia Cubas.
