Myriad social organisations, trade unions and prosecutors launched a
new umbrella social movement this week to wage a “permanent" fight against
corruption. The Movimiento Amplio por la Dignidad y la Justicia coalesced around
Víctor Fernández, the president of the Association of Prosecutors, who staged a
hunger strike for 38 days from 7 April to 14 May camping out in a “dignity tent"
outside congress. He said that the broad-based social movement would be able to
