Cristinista advance halted in the Capital

The overall outcome was expected; the overwhelming support for the incumbent mayor and the lower-than-expected backing of his rival, however, were not. When the final vote tally came in on 10 July, Mauricio Macri, mayor of the city of Buenos Aires (Caba) for Propuesta Republicana (PRO), comfortably led with 47.1%, against Daniel Filmus, of President Cristina Fernández’s Frente para la Victoria (FPV), on 27.78%.
