Former president Álvaro Uribe (2002-2010) managed to achieve the rare feat of getting the government and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) to unite this week – in condemnation of his actions. The Farc issued a statement savaging Uribe for calling on President Juan Manuel Santos to end the peace talks in Havana because the Farc had started kidnapping members of the security forces again.
