Domestic hacking in Chevron case. A New York judge hearing the case brought by Chevron against Ecuadorean indigenous groups and their lawyers ruled inadmissible emails which purportedly proved a conflict of interest involving a lawyer hired by the Ecuadorean government. The matter did not die there as a result of statements made by opposition legislator Clever Jiménez to the online news service
Ecuador Inmediato on 29 October, to the effect that the law firm Foley Hoag had been hired by the Ecuadorean government to represent it in several international lawsuits despite the fact that the firm worked for Chevron.
