MEXICO | Pemex seeks joint venture with YPF. On 28 November, Héctor Moreira, a board member at the Mexican state-owned oil company Pemex, revealed the company’s interest in signing an agreement with Argentina’s state-controlled firm, Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF), to jointly develop wells in the vast Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas deposits in Southern Argentina. According to Moreira, the Pemex director, Emilioz Loyoza Austin, will pitch the project to Pemex stakeholders at the next board meeting, scheduled for 19 December. Moreira also underlined that the interest in signing a joint venture is mutual, pointing to remarks to this effect made by YPF’s CEO, Miguel Galluccio, on 27 November.
