DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Police rapped for killings and torture

The Dominican police has taken a sharp rap on the knuckles by the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH, in the Spanish acronym) - and a severe drubbing from the local rights NGO, Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos (CNDH). The reason: excessive use of force, including `extralegal executions'.
