THE BAHAMAS: Dodging the bullets, for now

Just weeks before The Bahamas was spared the worst attentions of Hurricane Irma, Moody’s ratings agency refrained from stigmatising the country with another downgrade. Both were near misses, and Moody’s has put The Bahamas on notice that any significant economic underperformance will have consequences. Luckily Irma does not appear to have caused any major damage to the country’s all-important tourism infrastructure.
