* Brazil’s automobile manufacturers’ association (Anfavea) has revealed new projections for the automotive industry, forecasting a total of 2.54m newly licensed vehicles for 2018, a 13.7% increase on last year. Anfavea’s data aligns with figures released earlier this week by the country’s federation of automobile dealers (Fenabrave), reporting an increase in national vehicle sales in September compared to the same month last year, but a reduction compared to August. Anfavea notes, however, that exports in September decreased by 34.5% year-on-year, and by 29.7% compared to August. Brazilian vehicle exports, which totalled 39,400 units in September, have been negatively affected by a drop in demand from Argentina and Mexico. Anfavea expects vehicle exports for 2018 to decrease by 8.6% overall.
