* Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released its latest figures on foreign trade which show exports reached US$2bn in the first nine months of 2018, US$47.5m less than the amount registered in the same period in 2017. As regards sectors, agriculture contracted by -7.8% and manufacturing by -3.0% while mining was up 14.4% and fishing products by 4.1%. As regards export markets, the US accounted for 42.6% of all sales, followed by El Salvador (10.2%), Costa Rica (5.3%), Guatemala (4.7%), Mexico (3.8%), mainland China (3.2%), and Honduras (3.2%).
