COLOMBIA | Ceasefire deal with ELN 'imminent'. A ceasefire agreement between the government and the guerrillas of the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) could be signed as early as the end of March, according to peace commissioner Luis Carlos Restrepo. He made the announcement on 1 March after the fifth round of negotiations between both sides in Havana. Said Restrepo, 'In the government's opinion the situation is ripe to start drafting an agreement [...] In April the country will see the beginning of what it hopes for: cessation of hostilities and the release of hostages.'
