COLOMBIA-VENEZUELA: Not quite the Cuban missile crisis

Colombia’s President Iván Duque has claimed that Venezuela is interested in buying medium- and long-range missiles through Iran, a development guaranteed to ramp up tension with the US administration led by President Donald Trump. There is as yet no evidence to back up this claim, however, and it may end up being nothing more than the familiar exchange of aggressive rhetoric between Duque and his Venezuelan opposite number, Nicolás Maduro.
