PERU: Castillo comes out fighting

Peru’s President Pedro Castillo is fighting tooth and nail to prevent a constitutional complaint presented to congress by the attorney general’s office against him from prospering. Castillo delivered a national address on 19 October denouncing the complaint as part of a plot to remove him in a coup, while announcing that he would take the fight to the Organization of American States (OAS) to “defend democracy and prevent the rupture of the constitutional order”.
