In brief: Brazil’s Petrobras raises petrol prices
* Brazil’s state-controlled oil company, Petrobras, has announced a rise in the price of its Gasoline A for distributors. The price rise, which comes into force today (25 January), will see the cost increase from R$3.08 (US$0.60) per litre to R$3.31. A Petrobras statement said that “this increase follows the evolution of the reference prices and is coherent with Petrobras’s pricing policy, which seeks to balance its prices with the market but without passing on internal price volatility linked to exchange rates”.
