The Cámara de Diputados set up a special commission on 26 October to investigate the corruption allegations against President Vicente Fox (2000-2006). Never before has congress investigated a former president so soon after he left office; the human rights investigations into President Luis Echeverrí­a's term only started 25 years after he had retired.
