In brief: Paraguay’s economy continues recovery in Q4

* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released its latest figures on economic growth, showing that GDP grew by 1.7% in the fourth quarter of 2022 as compared to the same period of the previous year. This brings GDP growth across the whole of 2022 to 0.1%, following year-on-year contractions in Q1 (-0.9%) and Q2 (-3.3%), and yearly growth of 2.9% in Q3. In Q4, the BCP pointed to yearly growth in agriculture (48.2%), electricity & water (19.1%), livestock, forestry, fishing & mining (3.7%) and services (0.3%), while contractions were registered in manufacturing (-4.3%) and construction (-13.1%).
