CHILE: Deadly mining incident

Chile’s President Gabriel Boric announced three days of mourning on 3 August after six miners were killed when a tunnel collapsed in El Teniente mine, the largest underground copper mine in the world, which is located in O’Higgins Region. The fatal incident, which took place on 31 July, is Chile’s deadliest mining accident in decades.
